Gwinnett County Public Schools’family engagement initiativeseeks to support the growth, development, and success of each and every student.TheEngage,Equip, andEmpowerseries hosted by the Department of Federal Programs Office of Family Engagement provides opportunities for families to participate in instructional sessions, workshops, events, and activities to engage with Gwinnett County Public Schools. The series will provide opportunities for families to learn how to support their children at home in the core academic content areas, be active participants in their children’s education, and learn about resources, programs, and wraparound services to support their children.

Empowering Conversations - May 1st
GCPS invites all families to attend apowerful and informational session with district and community leaders on May 1stfrom 5:30 p.m.– 7:00 p.m. During this session, district and community leaders will discuss the importance of mental health and drug abuse awareness. Families will also learn how families can find help and support for both concerns.Interpretation will be provided in Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese.

PBIS Family Night - March 19th
GCPS invites all families to attend a virtual “Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Family Night” led by the Director of the Office of Behavior Supports and Interventions on March 19from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. During this session, GCPS families of students in grades 6-12 will receive information about the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports program components, and how families can help connect with schools and use positive interventions and supports at home. Interpretation will be provided in Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese.

Georgia Milestones Assessment Family Night - February 6th
GCPS invites all families of students in grades 3 – 12 to join the “Georgia Milestones Assessment Family Night” led by the Executive Director of the Accountability & Assessment Office on February 6th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM.Join us to receive information about the Georgia Milestones assessment (GMAS), sample questions, and tips to help your child at home. Interpretation will be provided in Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese. Online registration is now open.

Community-Based Mentoring and Office of Community Schools Family Night- October 24th
Families of students in all grades will learn how to engage with GCPS as a mentor with the Community-Based Mentoring Program that pairs caring adults with students in grades 4-12 to provide guidance, encouragement, and support to help our students become successful young adults. Families will also learn about the Office of Community Schools and the process for community organizations to partner in providing wraparound extension educational and recreational programs and services for our students to be successful.
