Tater Tot Nachos

Let's be honest, this tochos recipe is not really about healthy eating. But all things in moderation, right?

Whip out this tasty recipe for the game day and you'll have people lined up around the street. It's basically next level nachos, switching things up from regular sheet pan nachos.

These are perfect for taco night or an addition to your taco bar party. And if you have leftover taco meat, you can put it to use in this recipe.

Tachos Ingredients

You will need the following ingredients:

  • Frozen tater tots
  • Ground beef - you can use ground turkey or ground sausage if you prefer
  • Yellow onion
  • Taco seasoning - use your favorite seasoning, either store-bought or homemade
  • Nacho cheese sauce - this is the prepared nacho cheese sauce that comes in a can
  • Pepper Jack cheese - use fresh cheese and shred it yourself to get the best meltability. You can substitute with your favorite kind of cheese.
  • tomatoes
  • Sliced black olives
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa - use your favorite kind of salsa
  • Jalapeño peppers - optional

Additional toppings:

Pick whatever your favorite toppings are for traditional nachos and stack them up in your nachos. A few ideas are chopped green onions, fresh pico de gallo, and fresh cilantro.

How should I store leftovers?

You can store any leftover totchos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You may prefer to serve the sour cream and salsa on individual servings to avoid soggy Totchos after they have been stored.

How do I reheat totchos?

The best way to reheat the Totchos is in the oven so the tater tots crisp up a bit more. Reheat at 350° Fahrenheit until warmed through. You can reheat them in the microwave as well but the tater tots won’t be as crispy.

Storage Instructions
