I bought a 40-gallon hot water heater in November 2007. First problem I had with it was in 2009 when the pilot wouldnt stay lit. They sent me a requisition number to take to Lowe’s to pick up the part (igniter) and gave me a service number to give to the plumber to fix it. Plumber actually told me these heaters were junk and this wasnt the last problem Id have. Last Sunday (January 2012)--here we go again. Pilot went out and wont stay lit. Whirlpool is telling me its because I have a draft. Yeppers, that must be it because after they had me (arthritic 53-year old) and my disabled husband performing circus acts trying to relight it, then it was the filter on the bottom, then it was a draft. Last time I tried to light, which really someone as blind and disabled as me shouldnt be doing anyway, I about blew up. I hate getting ** by big corps. I filed a complaint with state Attorney General. If that doesnt work, hell, I think Ill take both Whirlpool and Lowe’s to small claims court. What do I have to lose? $35? Their fancy-schmancy lawyers will probably charge them a couple grand for their efforts. Im sick and tired of getting the short end of the stick. Since when is a hot water tank supposed to last a mere 4 years? Oh, by the way, Whirlpool says it’s all on me now--well see about that. First of all, both of these chumps just lost a customer and I Facebooked by friends about this pleasant experience plus included a link to this page. Consequences are all mine, I guess. Its pretty swell bathing in a sink full of water that you heated on the stove. I dont have any money because Im too busy giving it all to big insurance and big pharma right now. What a country!

Strange bear like sound when it washes. We stopped it and on again, sound gone. Water on full water pump drain attitude ok. Big lid (grey) inside on. Ran some time water draining with tablets to make it clean and run better. Had someone to look for it, no sound. But when we now turned on, it sound like a mumbling high sound from inside machine or upper lid. We have some thermostat error a few times now. No hot water condition and no washing in high temperature. Håkon ** was the inspector of this strange thing happening. Could this be dangerous to let it run?

I purchased the Whirlpool washer in February 2019 and delivery was in March. As stated in my previous reviews for the manufacturer, and subsequent repair calls, three; from the first time using the washer, it didnt fill properly for the amount of the clothes in it. A piece of paper towel never got wet through the whole wash cycle. I had to resort to raising & lowering the lid numerous times to get to the correct water level; adding water with a container or just pressing down on the switch under the top cover; 4-5 count. Needless to say very time consuming. As for hot water for doing white clothes, forget about it! It seem to me its the same problems with this whirlpool washer thats been happening with most of the other reviewers/purchasers. Did Whirlpool ever think about taken back one of these problem washers and checking it out for themselves? Maybe installing a clear plastic lid to monitor water levels at different wash cycles? Hot water temps when called for? Are these negative reviews ever seen by Whirlpool? Or in the trade is it called.... JOB SECURITY? Any more detail required? Cabo

I purchased my Whirlpool Duet washer about 14 months ago. After about 8 months, I noticed that it had started leaking. It was under warranty and the seal was replaced no problem. I then started to notice that my clothes were getting small tears in them. Around January (13 months after purchase), I got tired of finding new clothes and jackets with rips and tears in them. I finally found that the plastic piece around the entrance to the washer was rough and jagged. I called Whirlpool and they told me they could send out a service tech to file down the jagged edges. They told me this was a common problem caused by the zippers on jackets hitting the plastic and causing it to become rough. Because it was one month out of warranty, I would have to pay for the service call. The lady told me I could try filing it down myself. I feel like I should not have to file down anything 14 months after purchasing a new washer. I feel like I should not have to worry that my clothes are ruined every time I wash them. If this is a common problem as the lady told me, it appears to me to be a design flaw and should have a recall. I have lost several outfits and jackets due to this machine and I am very frustrated that Whirlpool would not stand behind their product.

I just read the reviews after having struggled with dirty clothes, smelly clothes, sour clothes and yes, our water bill is way higher using this nasty machine. I will never buy a Whirlpool again. Very VERY disappointed and dissatisfied with this machine. I usually always read reviews before buying anything but the sales guy at Garner Appliance said this was an awesome machine. We bought the matching set. And to read each and every consistently bad review with the same issues. They should replace these pieces of junk for us free. The dryer doesnt fall too far behind.

The Whirlpool range has worked effectively and efficiently for over ten years. We have experienced no problems. It is used several times a day to prepare meals and bake items. The cook top gas burners ignite easily, provide equal flame distribution, and the oven has an air blowing feature that makes cooking and baking much easier. One reason we chose Whirlpool was because this brands stellar performance history, its appearance, and its functionality. Overall, we could not have selected a better appliance for our use. We can unequivocally state that was and still is a solid performer for its cost.

I chose a Kitchen Aid Stainless Steel, Counter Depth Refrigerator from Lowe’s in early February, 2018. (Model #KRFC300ESS) At the time KA was recommended as the best choice. 1) Within a month there were numerous rust stains on the French door and that needed to be replaced and 2) There is the Damper Control unit which makes a intolerable noise until you replace this motor. This noise then returns....about every three months. Plan on paying just under $200 every year for the life of the refrigerator (at average of 14 years= $2,800!). We have had servicemen to our home now 4 times since our 2/7/18 delivery. A local retailer just rated Appliance Brands in 2020 for reliability and the amount of times serviced and found Kitchen Aid to be 10 of the 10 listed. My recommendation would be to try another brand. This one creates a money pit. :(

No, they dont have a record of this happening to this washer before. Even though I called them and got the lids through them two other times!!! But they will be happy to send me a new lid for $260!!! The first time he was here the repair man said the seal on the door was bad and he glued it. He told us to not open the door for 48 hours then everything would be fine. IT WASNT. A week and a half later he came back. He looked inside, scratched his head and told us, “This model should have the “deluxe” fan and I dont think it does!” Said he would be back in 6 days with the fan and well “see if that fixes it”.I called Whirlpool service waited on hold for an hour before getting cut off. Called back waited 35 more minutes but actually got to speak to someone. The big solution... They offered me a 6 month extended warranty!!! Ive lost an entire refrigerator full of food. Missed two days of work and am going to miss another when he brings the “deluxe” fan. Also been eating out all month and probably spent $100 buying ice. IE... MOST EXPENSIVE REFRIGERATOR EVER!!!

I am so disappointed with this washer. I totally dread doing laundry. The following are the complaints: Every load comes out totally twisted and wrinkled!! The soap/fabric dispenser holds water after each load (I have to take paper towels and get the dispenser empty!!!). There is not enough water to properly clean the clothes. I have never noticed a reduction in my water bill and have had this piece of junk since 4-25-13. There is NO short cycle on this junk machine. There is an odor to my towels - like they are musty - after I dry them and use them. I use Tide HE detergent and clean the washer with Affresh (you shouldnt have to clean a washer). I should have taken the time to write a review much sooner, but decided today was the day after doing laundry. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER.

Bought this microwave combo oven from Lowes. Went to change the charcoal filters, as specified by the owners manual, and the top cover and the side cover fell apart when I removed the filter cover screws. After two appointments the service tech came out for about 5 minutes to tell me that only mechanical failure is covered by the extended warranty which I also purchased from Lowes.The problem with Whirlpool is that they make the top cover, and some other parts, with cheap thin plastic which crumbles when exposed to heat. The repair tech said, Dont worry. Ill see what I can do. And then he left. Actually the warranty booklet said wear and tear is covered in addition to mechanical failure. Its inexplicable to me why any manufacturer would use cheap plastic for an over the range product. And I intend to fight this until I get this appliance repaired under warranty.

Called the dealer where it was purchased and a repairman was not available for another week. When the repairman showed up and diagnosed the problem which was a leak in the freezer causing ice and the fan to hit the ice, they were not equipped to fix that type of problem. We were advised to call Whirlpool consumer dept. which we did, and was advised they would send out another repairman and would be another week. Have had to move food and freezer items out of refrigerator. Two and one half weeks and no solution. Five month old refrigerator that is not usable. Very disappointed in product and service.

Model ED5PVEXWS14/Whirlpool Stainless Steel side-by-side refrigerator purchased from Lowes: My wife and I purchased this refrigerator from Lowes as a part of a kitchen renovation project. It was delivered by Lowes and worked great. The shelving cracked at the back as other owners experienced, but I blamed that on kids and was fine with ordering replacement parts online. Fast forward to the present and a year later, everything is working fine. Out of the blue it quit cooling or freezing on 6/12/13. I thought it was a capacitor problem, but since we purchased the refrigerator on 4/28/12, we decided to have a repairman come out and check. When he accessed it, he found that the compressor was bad. He stated every once in while you get a fridge with a bad compressor. He also said I just happened to have the particular refrigerator he sees frequently. I normally buy all Whirlpool products - microwaves, washer and dryer, dishwasher, my old refrigerator (still working at my relatives house), and my daughters college fridge. This is the first time I have experienced something of this nature with a Whirlpool product and hope I can work out a resolution with them or Lowes.

Now I see all these complaints for the same issue, yet the Whirlpool rep says they know nothing of this problem! I have a brand new Whirlpool matching microwave that sits uninstalled. I am wondering if I should even bother. I bought expensive new appliances to avoid the hassle of older items possibly breaking down -- and I have never been more frustrated in my life.

Since Id had it only two months, repair tried to say it was only cosmetic but had to replace it. Next time I cleaned the oven for multiple spills, (a year later) it cracked again, giving the bottom a shattered look where the spills were. I only cleaned it once and the bottom is ruined. I dont expect Whirlpool to stand behind this, but I agree these Convection Ovens require a Class Action Suit because they are selling faulty merchandise. Period.

MODELGR673LXOQ WHIRLPOOL RANGE - I purchased this range in January 2014. It is a good-looking range with a ceramic top and a convection oven. It has burned more food in a year than I had burned in several years. The top burners get red hot no matter where you have them set. They turn on very hot, then turn off and after a while they are red hot again. Cooking anything that requires a medium or less heat burns to the pan bottom. The oven works alright as a regular oven but when put on convection it burns the food closest to the fan before the rest is cooked. The company sent a technician to check the stove. He checked the temperature of the oven and said it was running too hot. He changed that setting and the first time I tried to bake it took forever. I reset the oven back to where it had been. The tech made no attempt to check the top burners as he said they couldnt all be bad. I hate this stove I had my former stove for thirty years and never had problems with it.

After the 4th service call and replacement parts, the noise ceased for 3 months. The noise has returned and Im now scheduling the 5th service call for the same problem. Thank goodness I purchased the extended protection plan through Lowe’s when I bought my three new Whirlpool kitchen appliances. Whirlpool used to be known for quality and dependable appliances. That no longer is true. SAD.

I purchased a Whirlpool water heater with the Flame Lock Safety System on 6/4/12. When installing the water heater, the cold water pipe would not screw into the top of the water heater. I exchanged this water heater for a new water heater of the same make and model. I brought this water heater home and had it installed and noticed that the flame on the burner was orange and too high. I called the 877-817-6750 number for warranty and was told by the customer service rep that it was either the gas regulator or the orifice inside the water heater. I was told to contact a plumber to take care of this issue and it was not a warranty claim and not their problem. I then went to the Lowes store where I purchased the unit and spoke to a manager. The manager called the same number I called and was told the same thing, that I was responsible for the repairs to the unit. How can this not be covered? Both pieces are internal to the unit and were never touched during installation. I now have to remove and return this unit and install a new water heater that will not be a Whirlpool at my own expense. Do not buy Whirlpool.

The one light under unit is so far to the back wall, you need a flashlight to cook spaghetti or use stove. 3. Too large in height, cant get a big pan on your stove. 4. Top of unit is open so much, if you spilled something from the cabinet above it would go right inside the works. 5. Instructions are hard to read & figure out, the wall hanging support is just one piece and if you dont have 2 main beams youre out of luck. GO buy a GE, put it up in 1/2 time & good & secure and works great. Has 2 lights on each side under unit. Fingers over the holes at the top. 1 inch shorter, 1 inch thinner. To my surprise the turntable is even larger, go figure.

We purchased our appliances including a refrigerator, stove, microwave and a dishwasher from Home Depot and chose Whirlpool because we believed in their quality. We purchased an ice maker for the refrigerator and it did not get delivered so we had to contact the store to get this resolved. Once this was resolved we installed the ice maker and began to use the products. We noticed a leak from the dish washer and checked the connections only to find out the leak was coming from inside the door. We contacted whirlpool to let them know. We were then contacted by whirlpool that they could not find a service center in our area and we needed to find one and they would reimburse us 150.00 for the service center that we find to come look at it and then we need to let whirlpool know what parts were needed and they would send them to us then we could have the service center come back and install the parts.After receiving this information I contacted whirlpool to let them know that this was unacceptable. First of all this is time and money out of my pocket and no service center is going to make two separate service calls for 150.00 dollars. So whirlpool tells me they have done all they can do in which I informed them that they have not done all they can do and they we just dumping this on me to take care of. So after arguing my point, the whirlpool employee decided to call a service center and make an appointment for Jan 09, 2020 which I agreed with and hopefully the problem will be solved. This should have been done from the very beginning instead of wasting my time only to have the whirlpool employees do their job. A customer should not have to deal with this. In the future I will using a different company for my products, not because of the product but because of the service. I have made a copy of this and will be posting my review.

Bought a Whirlpool fridge (WRF560SFHZ) 3.5 years old not cheap! Suddenly one day, the freezer drawer cannot close properly. Since it broke down on a long weekend, I have to wait 3 days in order to contact Whirlpool customer services. And then wait for another 4 days for them to send a technician. The technician advised it is a screw on the rail fall down and he fixed it and charged as 115CAD repairing fee (for a loose screw). He said it is a product defect from Whirlpool and that we should call Whirlpool to ask for a refund.Of course after a long wait from the hotline, Whirlpool refused to refund, saying that, It is not within warranty period and it is perfectly normal that you paid for 17** CAD fridge and can only used for 3,5 years and that things happens (screw can get loose). The service rep. even said, You bought it, it is your property now... And they dont care you have to throw away food in the freezer since the door cannot be closed. And of course they refuse to admit that the product has an inherent defect... Will never buy this brand ever again!

In November 2014, I purchased a Whirlpool 22 cu ft side by side refrigerator from my local appliance store. During that short time, there have been 4 instances where the ice clumps together and gets stuck, causing a large amount of ice to dump inside the freezer door. When the door is opened, the ice falls out onto the floor. I usually spend 10 minutes picking up ice and wiping up my kitchen floor. I have had the local store repairman over. He told me that was normal. Two things are seriously wrong with that statement. When I spend 1600.00 for a brand new appliance, I should be able to depend on the fact that it will function in at least a somewhat acceptable manner. Additionally, that statement by the repairman convinced me that he was not really interested in fixing the problem. I really dont think the normal operation of a new appliance is for it to make frequent, large messes for the owner to clean up. This appliance is junk and you would be foolish to purchase it. My washer is 2 years old, it now does its own thing - stopping when it wants, doesnt finish cycle, beeps finished and the clothes are so wet and the washer is not emptied. Then, I put it on drain and spin. One time, it kept going for almost an hour of off and on. My clothes were so out of shape and that was on low spin. I finally took them out and put them outside. The clothes from day one have always come out so wrinkled and that too is on low spin. Im afraid to use high spin. I know you have to for towels, but it still does not drain. It shuts off and on when it feels like it. My first contact with Whirlpool was, Well, did you buy the extended warranty? I hate it when asked that when purchasing any product. Its like saying, This is a piece of crap. Im warning you now so buy the extended. So right there, I felt Whirlpool isnt willing to help. What else can we all do here? Please advise.

We bought our house in December 2010 and the water heater (fg1f4034t3NOV) just started to give me fits. I had the same pilot light problems everyone else encountered. The person at the 877-251-1679 number gave me a good tip and that may have fixed the problem in the short-term. They told me theres a screen for venting on the bottom of the unit and to use a bottle brush after turning off the unit to clean the screen. I did this yesterday and the pilot light has stayed lit. I called the toll-free number and was told the water heater was out of warranty, but they could send me the part to fix the heater at half-price. I ordered it and they waived ground shipping. I hope to have the situation fixed soon. I’m very pleased with the level of service.

I wonder: Is NASA still accepting volunteers for their living on Mars experiment? Id rather beat my clothes on a rock than touch that POS Whirlpool that has me back on tranquilizers! Mine was purchased about 2 years ago when I was in bad health and my son was handling my affairs. I could tell - just by listening - there was something very wrong with it, from the first load my son attempted to wash. It would start and stop, restart, restop, ad infinitum and made a terrible racket. I told him nobody would intentionally make a machine like that--something had to be wrong with it but he assured me that he had checked both with the store that sold it and he also read the manual. He had a hard time accepting but we thought maybe this was because it was new and would settle down after some use; after all, the store (Best Buy) assured him the sound was normal for this particular machine. However, the weird sounds did NOT lessen nor stop, nor did the starts and stops. Little did we know, this was just the tip of the iceberg! We have encountered/suffered through every nasty performance detailed here: low water, wont spin, leaves clothes soaking wet, wont spin out excess water, lid locks (grrrrrr), it cant seem to switch from one procedure to the next; there is nothing washing the dirt out of the clothes--they just sit in the water and soak(?), then the water is released. Clothes come out with stains still on, so wet that the water must be wrung out of them! Very hard for me with arthritis all through my body! Ive tried countless times to reset machine to Drain & Spin. Ive even waited (yawn) for it to unlock so I can open and then readjust the heavy/wet laundry, trying to make it even all the way around so to avoid an unbalance. But nothing helps. It will start to spin. And then it stops. (wait, wait) Starts to spin again. Stops. (wait, wait) Starts again, does it a bit longer. (start to relax) Stops. Ive spent HOURS engaged in that kind of mindless, maddening frustration, just trying to wash one small-medium load. (I wash only for one person--myself, now.) My son, who got married and no longer lives with me, said the only way he could manage to struggle through it - and agrees it DOES take an inordinate amount of time--for just ONE load, he has to put the settings so that it washes in Deep Water even if small load. He sets Rinse, to 2 Rinses. He sets it to Soak even if the soil is light. Even then, it still makes noises, starts and stops, has to be adjusted several times during Drain & Spin. Last but not least, the noxious odor: OMG! I left one batch of laundry in the machine, with the lid open, as it was very late so figured Id dry them next morning. Some hours later when I went back to shake them out and put in clothes dryer, they smelled so awful, I had to wash them all over again! In fact, Ive had to follow my sons admonition to leave the lid up AT ALL TIMES unless actually washing in order to keep down the stink. I washed my last load with Baking Soda added to wash cycle in an attempt to lessen the odor and get laundry cleaner. Someone here wrote - in their review - that there should be a Class Action (Law) Suit filed against Whirlpool. I AGREE!!! And I want to opt IN on it. There are several law firms that advertise on t.v. that specialize in Class Actions. It would take some time and paperwork but will not cost us anything unless we win the case. Then the law firm gets a percentage. I am willing to work with one more others here who truly want to settle out this problem. I cant believe 2,000 (and thats only here), people are willing to eat hundreds, thousands of dollars of worthless, mind-gripping, rubble such as we have spent our hard-earned money. Other manufacturers recall their defective merchandise and/or replace it, or make arrangements with the retail stores who carry it to make amends, free repairs, whatever it takes to make dissatisfied, disenfranchised customers, whole. We paid for these demons from hell and we deserve to get an equivalent in merchandise (that works properly) or services. That is how it is done here in the U.S. For the life of me, I just cant comprehend why Whirlpool has been allowed to continue selling this junk--why no entity or person or lawsuit has stopped them! As I said, I am willing to work with a core group who is serious about filing a Class Action (Law) Suit against Whirlpool. It may be that the retail stores would be included as well; however, that is a matter best left to the discretion of whichever law firm we select to represent us. For those of you here who do NOT wish to be included, do not worry; you are not being pushed into anything. The way Class Actions work, you have the choice to opt IN (be included to receive your pro-rata share of what is collected). Or you are completely free to opt OUT. By opting out, that means you do not wish to be part of the Class Action and therefore, you will not be included nor will you receive any portion of the recompense collected via the Class Action. Just for your information, though: You are allowed, by law, to bring your OWN lawsuit against all or some of the same parties. The most common reason for opting out, is if you have suffered an extra large financial loss and prefer to file your own suit in order to collect ALL recompense; whereas, sometimes - in a Class Action - the individual plaintiffs may not recoup the total amount they feel they have lost. The washers does not clean everything - does not use enough water to clean - leaves your delicates so wrinkled and clothes in general beat up. Our last fridge (also stainless french door) we had for about 14 or 15 years and only the door bins cracked that we put gallon milk jugs in (dont do it - they are too heavy and get warm from the door opening). This fridge is a piece of junk. We were told it was stainless - rust spots started appearing the first year. The deli drawer lid broke within a month or two, but I didnt care about that so I just threw it away. The ice machine stopped working a little after the first year. Today however is what got me to write a review - I spent a couple of hours trying to duct tape and make wood supports to hold up the frame for the produce drawers - one of which is totally cracked when it fell from having the support break. While doing this I noticed there are hairline cracks on the front of all 4 of the shelves! Also, this one has a wire basket in the bottom instead of a full drawer - probably more supportive, but it means stuff constantly falls into the bottom of the fridge and it is extremely hard to get in there to clean.

I purchased a Whirlpool® 4.5 cu. ft. Front Load Washer with Load & Go Dispenser in 2017. By August of 2020 the washing machine was no longer working. The machine would continue to fill with water and not shut off. The machine would then give an error of E01 and F03 and drain all water within 5 minutes of the wash load starting. I had a certified Whirlpool technician come and diagnose the problem for $99. The technician said these error codes happen ALL THE TIME on Whirlpool washers. The technician tried to replace the water pressure switch with no success. He then spoke to a corporate office and was told we would have to replace the motherboard for over $500. The total cost for the diagnosis and repair was almost the exact price I paid for a new washer just 3 years earlier. I will NEVER purchase any Whirlpool appliance ever again.

The answer was talk to our legal department.We are very angry. This has been very disruptive and upsetting. The floor is black under the hardwood. It appears to be the lid locking mechanism and the washing machine will not turn on. It is under warranty and I am finding it hard to get a repair service in my area that is directed to Whirlpool to come and fix it. The only appliance repair in our area states that they will charge for trip and service if they find that is not a defect within the Whirlpool perimeters. I could be charged up to $200 for trip and service which is half of what I paid for. Whirlpool states this is not the case, and I am now having to wait a week to even set up yet another appointment. I have other machines that lasted 7-10 years until they wore out. I am frustrated and what could be a simple fix has turned into a financial nightmare.

There are just two of us in the household so the dishwasher was only used 2 or 3 times a week. We also kept it very clean with no build up. The gasket around the soap dispenser came out and one of the wheels fell off of the bottom rack. We just feel that 3 1/2 years is too soon for a major appliance to stop working and fall apart, especially given the light usage.

Sometimes it works fine from the get-go, but not often enough. It is now 2 years old and if I were wealthy, Id shove it to the curb. There is little to like with an appliance that often must be adjusted and re-started. I will try Samsung next. It seems that American brands are not reliable. I have no special needs and will consider reliability above all. The name Whirlpool would be a deal breaker for me. I cannot abide my Whirlpool washing machine as it is more of an aggravation than something useful. Stay away from Whirlpool washing machines. They (at least mine) require the load to be balanced to a microgram. Appliances should just work and not require fiddling with.

The repair person said this was a design flaw and he was getting many calls. Then at 13 months, the dishwasher wouldnt drain. The repair person fixed the problem and left reset directions because this can commonly happen. Now at 18 months later, the drainage problem wont resolve even with the reset. Whirlpool extended the warranty by 6 months but wont cover this repair. Two appliances, two problems. Dont buy Whirlpool.

We called, Whirlpool sent serviceman out. Serviceman number 1 put some kind of black tape in the door saying it was the seal. We were just disgusted over this and it didnt work. We called again, serviceman number 2 came out, said bad door, so he ordered door. Serviceman number 3 came out, replaced door. Moisture still in fridge, food isnt staying cool, and you can physically still see gap indoor. We called again. Serviceman number 4 came out and said fridge is not level due to floor in house. But nothing wrong with floor in house. This serviceman pushed on fridge said to my 89 year old dad and 76 year old mother and I quote, Put a piece of wood under this side of fridge. We will not replace this fridge. Now mind the fridge was delivered and set up by Lowes. So now this brand new fridge is no good and we have had no help whatsoever to fix this problem. So my parents whom have been married for 62 years with 5 grown children, 16 grandchildren, a 36 greatgrandchildren and 1 great great grandchild have promised none of us will ever look at another Whirlpool anything much less purchase a whirlpool appliance. Just for the simple fact of how a multi trillion dollar company will not stand behind their warranty nor name. We are disgusted with the whole situation. This is the worst experience any of us have ever had. So no I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone for the simply fact of the way my parents have been so disrespected by this company. Finally I got a callback after spend an hour on the phone saying that it will take one more week. I had to call Whirlpool to expedite service and because of weekend I have to wait another 4 days to get the part.There are 7 people living in my house including 2 yr old. We are having hard time with the food and waste of food. We probably throw away $200 worth of food. And spending money every single day on food. I have to buy every other day for my 2 yr old. Whenever I tried to call for compensation, I get transferred to different department. I am so tired with this kind of service. I would never buy any appliance from Costco or Never refer to anyone. If youve got a bunch of wet towels you just want to spin the water out, you can forget it. You will have to do a complete wash. And the 1 star is not even appropriate but there is no choice of a big fat zero. Wasted a lot of money on this when Ive had great luck with Kenmore.

Talked to tech & checked the manual for testing the thermocouple on my natural gas water heater. Everything checked out fine but pilot wouldnt stay lit. Tested thermal switch.... everything. They said replace the valve/thermostat. Still no dice. Turns out the thermocouple was cracked on the inside near the burner assembly & would give passing readings on the voltmeter 9 out of 10 times. If you have any pilot problems, replace the thermocouple first. Was only 10 bucks. I keep a spare now. Dont forget to vacuum any dust from the fine mesh screen on the very bottom. Fresh air supply.

It was time to put the old Frigidaire Washer out to pasture. I researched for quite some time online to find just the right new one. Its all so confusing as they all claim to be the best. The Whirlpool WTW500DW Top Load is the one I chose to look at along with 2 comparable others. I have had Whirlpool appliances in the past and was always happy with them, so I will be honest, I was leaning towards Whirlpool. I purchased the WTW500DW and matching Dryer after looking at the 2 others first. Price was lower, features were more to my liking and better quality/sturdiness was very apparent to me. This was the lower priced machine out of the 3 but had everything I wanted and a little more. The HUGE wash basket is wonderful. I have literally cut our laundry down from 4-5 loads a week to 2! Our clothes have truly never been cleaner.I am amazed at the great job this machine does with a minimum amount of time and water. It is quiet, efficient and the cycles do what they are supposed to do. The absence of electronic pad buttons is greatly appreciated. Its standard dials are easy to read and set. In my opinion, Whirlpool has done it again. Its a great Washing Machine at a price that is lower than others without as many nice features, it is well built and does the job perfectly.

Whirlpool Duet 3.9 cu ft High-Efficiency WFW9451XW00 - Hear my first experience with Whirlpool. I purchased a washer machine 30 April 2014. Guess what - machine stop working suddenly on July 30th, just about three months later. I had a lot of guest from overseas. While they visit me, I did not have my washer machine. How embarrassing. It was big mistake to buy Whirlpool. It is all made plastic inside and they uses cheap Chinese material. Anyway, technician came house to check what the problem was... all control system was burned. He ordered almost 10 parts from Whirlpool on 04 August. Whirlpool scheduled delivery for 20 of August. I called them for them to send the parts faster so my guests could wash their clothes. They send them little faster for August 16. After a day, technician was in the house again. I waited about 3 hours for him to fix my machine. He was really nice guy. He put install all new parts. Just in front of me, new parts broke after 5 minute. Whirlpool still did not contact me about their decision. Today is August 26th... I called them 5 time already - Nobody give me useful info. NO Whirlpool, guys - bad service.

Tech needed for cracked handle. 6 calls for freezing food in fridge compartment. No resolve. Whirlpool wanted a 2nd opinion and another tech came deeming the fridge unrepairable. Not good enough for Whirlpool. After speaking to several customer service agents, they said they do not refund or replace, only repair. I have lost hundreds of dollars of food from freezing. My fridge is reading at 31 deg. This is way below what it is supposed to read at. No call from Whirlpool since last tech came. Their customer service is terrible and cold. Whirlpool Corp. was not any help either. You can see the problem with this model if you look up Whirlpool fridge freezing food in Florida, as a woman there called ABC news and they reported it. I will also do the same.

My microwave is a Whirlpool WMC10511AW purchased in Jan 2014 for $150. It is very light weight and moves around when opening and closing the door. I have to use something behind it on the counter top to keep from moving backward and causing problems getting things in and out. In the first year we had problems with the door latch, but after a while it stopped being a problem. I am used to the stability of Amana Radarange so these very lightweight microwaves seem really cheap to me. It works fine at this point but it seems that these really inexpensive countertop microwaves have to be replaced about every 2-3 years where an Amana which costs a lot more lasts for around 20 years and are very stable not moving around all the time.

There has been nothing run through the machine other than clothes and bedding. When I called for service 1 1/2 months after warranty is out of date I am told I can have a service call including parts and labor and another year warranty for almost $400. If it werent for the numerous reports online of the machine doing the same to others I might have gone for it. Shame on you Whirlpool. Are you the next GM?

We purchased it from LOWES and our Plumber had to return the first heater due to a huge dent on the outside of the body once it was removed from the box. LOWES replaced it, no problem and he installed it. GREAT, HOT water for about six (6) months. Pilot light went out and has continued failing after relighting numerous times! Now we have the four (4) blinks indicating that the Honeywell gas control needs to be replaced only after 27 months of use. Whirlpool offers 12 year warranty on tank & parts, but come to find out, not this part. We were both raised on Whirlpool products and thought we based on our parents successes of various Whirlpool products, we were buying quality brand. We were soon disappointed and will never buy another Whirlpool manufactured Brand again!!

My Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7800 was bought 1 and 1/2 years ago. The lid is glass with a plastic edge. The plastic part of the lid next to the glass and hinge is cracking causing the glass to stick up. It is cracked from the top of the lid toward the base if the lid were closed. The only way this could happen if it werent a manufacturer defect would be if someone were to get inside of the washer with the lid locked and try to push up to get out right at the hinges. I have noticed several other complaints of the same problem on this website with the same model. Clearly this is a manufacturer defect. I am on the phone with Whirlpool now.

Anything that has the slightest stain has to be pre-rinsed or pre-washed in the sink before going into the washer. Every load is an unbalanced load. Although the floor is perfectly level, the washer bucks and dances as though it is possessed. I never expected a $900 washer to be a piece of junk. I contacted Whirlpool and their trouble shooting included doing a draft test (I am a teacher not a plumber) and removing the closet door that houses the unit. I am very frustrated by this entire ordeal and would like if they would replace the entire unit. At this point I dont want another Whirlpool product. The plumber made a service call at 12 noon and by 3:30 we had luke warm water and by 6:00 pm the water was ice cold! I will never recommend any Whirlpool products.

Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher - I wish I had discovered this website BEFORE I bought this piece of trash last year to replace our antique Maytag that ran like a champ for 10 years. But after 10 year the gaskets wore out and it started leaking. Even at ten years old that Maytag cleaned and dried better than this brand new Whirlpool. My complaints are the same as everybody else here. Doesnt clean even slightly soiled dishes and then it doesnt dry any of the silverware, or plastic pieces like measuring cups and tupperware. All are totally wet and need to be hand dried. So, why am I cleaning the dishes beforehand and drying them after??? The only good thing I can say about this unit, is that it is quiet. But, as my husband said, so is a brick, and a brick would be just about as good at washing and drying our dishes. Buyers Beware!!! This is a terrible product. Turned me against Whirlpool appliances forever.

The main board for driving the burners, oven, etc burned up which caused my oven to go from the 200 degree setting to 450 in about 3 minutes burning everything that was in the oven. They want $400.00 + installation to replace it and that is if one can be found to actually install. The stove was purchased for $850.00 because of the Brand and now they want half that value to replace a board that will likely fry again in a year or two. I find there is no value for money and will not ever buy a Whirlpool brand again.

Always buy an extended warranty if you are going to buy a washing machine. Mine cost $129.00 extra and it is not through Whirlpool. Three control panels and two tub bearings later, the extended warranty insurance carrier gave us our money back to buy another machine. My wife loves the operation of the Cabrio, so we bought a WTW8200YW today, in the false hope that it will work much better. We have an extra washing machine in the garage for the three week period before repairs. The serviceman has to come look to verify the problem, then come back when the part arrives.

3-4 years ago, I had replaced my hot water heater with a Whirlpool, which was purchased at Lowes. On 10/23/11, I awoke to a flooded basem*nt from the said water heater. When I entered the basem*nt, I was able to verify that the water was spraying right from the casing of the unit. Who knows how long it had been spraying, but the place was a complete mess. The water was about 10 inches deep and many things were ruined. I proceeded back to Lowes and purchased another exact unit. This morning I awoke to the sound of what seemed to be water bubbling, only to enter the basem*nt and see exactly what I saw just three weeks previously... another flooded basem*nt from water just pouring out the side of the unit. This is an obvious defect in craftsmanship. Now I find myself with a flooded basem*nt, no hot water, and a decision to make. Do I fight for another replacement or give up on the brand? A replacement water heater will solve my lack of hot water but for now, the question is for how long? Not to mention the cost and time spent with the clean up I did twice.

I was so upset with my house burning that I never thought about the washing destroying my towels, rugs and sweaters until it was too late on the guarantee. I told them that there needed to be a recall of this machine. I so want them to see the towels that I have to use. I am so embarrassed of my towels that I have to buy new when company comes. My husband and I bought a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Series Washer and Dryer in November 2012 from Lowes. My clothes, especially towels, smell like mildew and mold since I have used it. I thought it was just me. I have even thrown some items away when they smelled so bad. I love doing laundry but this not being able to have clean smells was driving me crazy. I tried everything I could think of but to no avail. Finally in October of this year 2015 my washing machine began to make a loud noise. My husband said sounds like a bearing is going out. I immediately sought a repairman thinking that it would be a simple fix. $420 later I had a new bushing, bearing, sleeve, etc. The machine was still making noises even louder and my repairman came back, this time to the tune of $180. So far weve spent $600 on a washer that we gave a little over $800 for. Now I have a UL code showing up when my load is almost completely done and guess what? My repairman says he has yet another part that should take care of the noise but he wasnt so sure about the panel. He may have to do a little research on that. I think all I have is a repairman that is a parts replacer so we were forced to purchase a new washer yesterday and my Cabrio is sitting in my garage. Two repairmen told me that the Cabrios were junk. Most of them belonged in the landfill. Whirlpool customer service called me and offered me a discount coupon on a new washer. I told them that I didnt think I needed another piece of crap. I also questioned them as to why they could foist these crappy machines off on the American public. They had no apologies whatsoever. While researching what brand washing machine to invest in, I realized that there were numerous complaints regarding the Whirlpool Cabrio. The range has already been replaced by Whirlpool after having it repaired twice and, finally, following the complete breakdown on Thanksgiving with turkey in oven. The refrigerator has broken twice and the computer box that controls all functions was replaced twice. The compressor goes off randomly and is currently off again at the moment. I woke up this morning to this and the temp inside is around 50 degrees. Needless to say the food inside is a loss. I will never purchase any Whirlpool appliance again. These were not inexpensive appliances by the way.
