  easy class, don't skip and honestly you'll have a guaranteed A. the MWF 8 am was not fun but you get a C on the exam just for doing it, the homework is almost exactly like the practice, and the labs were easy. only downside is that attendance is 9% of your grade, so if you skip, you're pretty much guaranteed a B. diego makes the 8 am bearable LOL

  Best professor I've ever had! He cares about his students and about their learning. I was in his lab and we worked in groups. Super fun, I would recommend everyone to take him if you have the chance to.

  Professor Gutierrez has been one of the best teachers I have ever had. He communicates well, shows thorough examples in class, and engages with everyone. He is also kind and funny. I recommend taking him for your physics courses.

  Best professor I've ever had. Professor Gutierrez is so understanding and genuinely cares about his students. Lectures were fun and he makes the concepts easy to grasp. 3 noncumulative exams, 5 homework assignments, and 1 short paper on anything related to science. The work load never got too overwhelming and I cannot recommend him enough!!

  Great professor! He makes the class interesting and engaging, he's very enthusiastic about the subject and gives such a good energy in class. He's always running to help students individually and doesn't overcomplicate the module. Attendance for lab is mandatory and there's a book (~$60) but the group-work style makes it so that you can share.

  THE BEST PROF OUT THERE! i took Diego for 100A and 100B & he quite literally is the reason why I passed with an A and understood physics! Teaches u everything u need to know, exams are easy (curved too), and he's hilarious in his lectures! Best prof at CSULB and if u go to his OH he definitely helps u out if u need it! THE GOAT

  Diego is a funny, caring prof. The class is pretty easy with homework and exams. He is generous with curving exams. Attendance is not mandatory, but there is a participation question in each class that is worth a grade, so it would probably be best to go to class.

  He actually made physics interesting to me. His lectures were very engaging, and the class was relatively easy. The only reason I say attendance was mandatory is because he would have a participation quiz at random times each class.

  He is such a funny, caring, and overall amazing teacher. You can tell how much he cares about his students by his attitude. Not only is he relatable but he teaches the class very well and is very engaging. He is probably the only teacher who will have my attention for lectures. Three easy tests, one moon journey, and one scientific paper.Recommend!

  Take him for PHYS100A, I cannot stress this enough! His grading curve is very generous - you get at least a C just by attempting the problem at all. He's the kind of prof that wants to cause as little stress as possible. Office hours are super helpful and if you can't make it he is super accessible outside of that time too.

  Take him!!! He usually has early classes but it is so worth the 8 am. He is very caring and takes his time going through questions. If you're ever confused his office hours are so helpful! The best professor!

  You will not regret taking this course with him! Caring, understanding & funny. The class was super easy, it's impossible to not pass. Consists of 5 HW quizzes (about 10 M.C. questions), a scientific paper on anything science-related (very simple & clear guidelines), lab grade, 3 exams (only about 12 M.C. questions!), and participation/attendance.

  Great professor! Very caring and understanding of his students. My only problem was with getting a participation grade through attendance of his lectures. I couldn't make it to class a lot due to personal issues and so I was pretty worried about that part of my grade for the semester. Wish there was something that could make up for it.

  If you take PHSC112, you have to take it with Gutierrez. He is such a fun and cool professor and genuinely cares about his students. The class is pretty easy and there are optional textbooks, so you don't have to pay for anything. His lectures go by fast, there's one paper, and 3 quizzes, but it's all manageable. His office hours are super fun!

  Prof Gutierrez was so kind and helpful! There were about 4 tests, with each being like 2 questions (even the final, which was noncumulative). They were also fairly easy since they were similar to the homework questions. Very good professor with the best energy.

  Diego is probably the best prof you'll ever get! Definitely take him for PHYS 100A AND 100B! He made the content make sense and grades on a curve on the exams! You basically can't get anything lower than a B tbh. Just make sure to do the weekly HW and there's participation points which add up and give you a good grade boost at the end of the sem :)

  The most amazing professor! He brings a lot of positive and funny energy every day. You can tell he is very passionate about the course material. In some way, he teaches from a student perspective, meaning he always thinks about the students. Whether it is mental health or what is the necessary coursework. It is a delicious class, as he says.
