Beth Samuel Jewish Center

Beth Samuel Jewish Center offers weekly Shabbat services, family services once a month and Kabbalat Shabbat services online once per month. There is also Religious School every Sunday.

First Friday: Family Service at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary, followed by an Oneg in the social hall.

Shabbat Morning Services: Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary, followed by a Kiddush in the social hall.

Kabbalat Shabbat Services: Usually on the third Friday of the month, at 7 p.m. on Zoom. Contact the office for the link. This get-together frequently includes a visiting musician, cantor, rabbi or other noteworthy guest.

Religious School: From preschool through bar-bat mitzvah, every Sunday morning on campus. To learn more, call, go online or email bethsamueloffice@comcast.net.

Sewickley Presbyterian Church

Worship Services are held at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. each Sunday. Education hour for all ages is at 10 a.m. on Sundays.

Club 345, the after-school club for kids in grades 3, 4 and 5, is now meeting on Fridays from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. at the Faith House. Kids enjoy a snack, play games, and work on a mission project. All kids are welcome to attend. Registration is available on the church website.

Sewickley United Methodist Church

The Sewickley United Methodist Church has two services each Sunday: 9 a.m. contemporary, featuring our praise band Leap of Faith; and 11 a.m. traditional, with nursery care and children’s ministries during both services. The church is a reconciling congregation and openly welcomes all people.

St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church

St. Brendan’s is an open, welcoming and active church that holds in-person worship with Eucharist at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sundays and 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Nursery coverage is available for children at the Sunday 10 o’clock service, which is live-streamed on YouTube. Sunday School is on hiatus for the summer.

The Modern Episcopalians study group will begin a discussion on Jesus’ life in his time and culture using the book “Jesus Through Middle Eastern Eyes” by Kenneth E. Bailey. The focus will be the life and ministry of Jesus with attention to The Lord’s Prayer, the Beatitudes, his relationship to women and the parables. The sessions will be held on Zoom every Thursday beginning June 6 at 7 p.m. Contact the office for the link.

This month, the parish is collecting shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, hand soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste for the North Hills Food Bank. All other donations will be gladly accepted.

St. Brendan’s is also collecting new underwear and socks for men, women and children in all sizes. The clothing will be taken to the Neighborhood Resilience Project, a nonprofit organization that helps families in the Hill District.

The parish will hold its annual picnic July 28 at Blueberry Hill Park in Franklin Park.

Morning Prayer is offered at 8 a.m., Monday through Friday via Zoom. Bible Study is held at 11 a.m. Tuesdays via Zoom. Contact the office for links.

St. Matthews AME Zion Church

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

Sunday worship is at 10 a.m.; Sunday school at 9 a.m. Weekly Bible study is at 10 a.m. Tuesdays at the Edgeworth Eat’n Park.

St. Stephen’s Anglican Church

Regular weekend services are held Sundays at 8 a.m., 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Groups, classes and events for all ages and seasons include Bible Studies, single mom’s groups, memory loss support group, GriefShare and men’s and women’s service groups. The Christy House (located on the corner of Frederick and Walnut streets in Sewickley) serves lunch every Friday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Reservations can be made online at ststephenschurch.net/christyhouse. Cost is $18, which includes two soups, salad, bread, drinks and homemade cookies for dessert. All proceeds benefit various ministries and missions, particularly those involving the needs of women and children.
