Vopak Terminal Corpus Christi recently participated as a Demonstration Sponsor in This One's for the Gals (TOFTG) 2024 Coastal Bend Women in Industry Conference held in Robstown, Texas. The mission of TOFTG is to help high school-aged girls learn about career opportunities in construction, energy, and manufacturing. The Vopak team explained the role of tank storage and demonstrated the use of a pump system and its use in transporting products safely from Vopak tanks to a ship or truck.“This conference provided exposure of our industry to young females and our involvement supports the goal that women are encouraged to pursue opportunities in the petrochemical world,” said Anthony Ragno, Vopak Corpus Christi Terminal Manager.Our participation is part of Vopak WeConnect. The World Hydrogen Summit commenced in Rotterdam, the Netherlands yesterday. Vopak's CEO Dick Richelle participatedat the roundtable the Hydrogen Council organized in cooperation with the International Hydrogen Trade Forum, hosted by the Netherlands, the UAE and Port of Rotterdam. Proud to be collaborating with Singapore Polytechnic to enhance maritime safety through training on low carbon marine fuels. Singapore Polytechnic and Vopak have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on equipping the faculty members of the Singapore Maritime Academy with the knowledge and skills in the safe handling of new marine fuels. This partnership taps into Vopak’s existing expertise in the safe handling of these new marine fuels, including ammonia, biofuels, and methanol, to design a curriculum tailored to equip maritime professionals with the necessary skills for a more sustainable future. “This collaboration not only reinforces our commitment to maritime safety, but also drives Singapore’s journey towards becoming a leading sustainable multi-fuels hub. Vopak US and Canada business unit recently conducted a workshop together with Gulf Coast Growth Ventures with the goal to enhance dock efficiency.The inaugural workshop fostered transparency with an open exchange of ideas between Vopak and Gulf Coast Growth Ventures. The teams navigated through the operational phases, from pre-arrival to departure, breaking the participants into groups to explore improvement opportunities within each area. A key result of the workshop is now having positive actions to track in different areas. Major stakeholders from all roles in the operations were involved. A big thank you to all participants! Four additional terminals switched to green electricitysince 2024⚡ Congratulations to our teams at Los Angeles, Long Beach, Corpus Christi, and Vopak Exolum Houston for switching to 100% green electricity for our operational activities.Vopak is proactively working on minimizing our carbon footprint while simultaneously investing in infrastructure solutions for a future powered by zero- and low-carbon energy, such as biofuels, hydrogen and ammonia.Switching to green electricity is one of the ways we are reducing our own footprint. So far, we have successfully switched to green electricity for operations at 35 of our terminals within our global network.Vopak continues to explore possibilities in other locations.#improve #sustainability
