Please do yourself a favor. If you get him for any upper division physics course, drop! The absolute worst teacher there is. DO not bother coming to class since he just copies off of his own textbook and does not explain his work. He does curve his grading but you will NOT learn in his class.

This guy cannot teach. His lectures are super confusing and you walk out of class more confused than when you came in. He lectures straight from the textbook, but you can't even follow along due to his thick accent and VERY messy handwriting. If you're a physics major or you LOVE physics, take this class. If not, pray for a big curve.

Dropped the class after 1 week, so I wouldn't recommend. I also took this class for the summer from the open university, meaning that I'm not a CSULB student.

The class covered graduate/advanced upper-division level modern physics. All of us were first semester grad students so I definitely think that it was unnecessarily difficult. IK it's a physics class and not a CS class, but we are here to learn how to code and not 2nd year grad level stuff. Also, his real-time coding is very, very hard to follow...

Take this class and you will have a 95% chance of failing. He was forced to curve our entire class, like all of his previous classes. Performed great in PHYS151, this professor just doesn't seem to care. You cannot read his handwriting or understand what he's saying half the time. Don't know how he's still hired, avoid him at all costs.

His exam questions hand-drawn in a very bad way by himself, which makes it very difficult to even understand the question. His lectures are very difficult to understand because of his bad handwriting and accent. It is very very difficult to learn something from him. I would not recommend taking his class at all.

Summer 2018. Really messy handwriting, and he has an accent. He covers topics quickly and not thoroughly. Tests are only an hour, and he goes over it right after you turn it in, which is torture. Curved because almost all would fail otherwise. When I saw him one-on-one, he hardly gave me feedback and acted like he didn't really care.

You're only graded on tests. That's it really at least for the summer classes he does. The tests averages aren't great so I assume there'll be a curve. As mentioned before the man has a thick accent and doesn't appear to have a large vocab so he'll breeze thru lectures when he runs out of things which can be frustrating. His writing is VERY sloppy.

The worst professor anyone could ever get. He is unable to understand due to his thick accent and he does not like those who would ask questions and he also does not seem to know how to teach. Whenever you attempt to ask questions, he gets upset and gets mad and the more questions you ask, the more he dislikes you.

Funny guy, incredibly chill and a decent professor once you're able to get over his accent. Took his Physics 152 class over the summer, with minimal regrets. Reasonable exams, and does not ask for too much.

Dr. Papp is an odd man, but he knows his stuff. All he asks of you is to show up to lectures and laugh at his jokes. Exams are taken straight from the book. Lectures are straight from the book, but confusing. Be prepared to study for countless hours. The class was curved, but every session is different and situational. Overall: learned a lot.

The worst and most useless professor I have ever taken. His lectures only leave you confused about the material, partially because of his thick accent and mainly because of his poor teaching abilities, forcing you to read the book on your own. BUT he enforces attendance policies, wasting your time by making you attend his lectures.

He is the WORST excuse of an "educator" ever! He lectures directly from the book (with seemingly no lecture notes or lesson plans) He speaks incomprehensibly and cryptically answers his confused students' questions (leaving us even more confused afterwards) HARD exams and NOT helpful whatsoever. The exam average for our class was like 50%.....

Don't know where the other reviews came from. This guy is friendly, easy going, lectures and assigns homework straight from the book, and tests on the homework problems he assigns. It was a challenging class but he does not ask too much. Take him. Very helpful if you ask for help.
